Google to launch expanded automotive Android OS for software-defined vehicle ecosystem

Google’s Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS) is evolving into a broader platform facilitating non-safety components in software-defined vehicles, building on its existing focus on premium infotainment experiences. Early partners in the enlarged programme include carmarker Renault and chip maker Qualcomm, with Google set to roll out an open licence for the new AAOS SDV platform later in the year.
