Shares of JSW Infrastructure gained 2.35% to trade at Rs 258.95 on the NSE on Friday, February 23, following a key operational update from the company. The stock was up Rs 5.95 during the session, reflecting positive investor sentiment after the announcement.
JSW Infrastructure informed exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations that its wholly owned subsidiary, JSW JNPT Liquid Terminal Private Limited, has received the Project Completion Certificate for additional liquid cargo berths at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA).
Completion certificate received from RITES
The Project Completion Certificate was issued by RITES Limited, acting as the Independent Engineer for the project. The certificate was received via email at approximately 2:00 p.m., formally approving commercial operations for the expanded liquid cargo facility.
The development relates to the equipping, operation, maintenance and transfer of additional liquid cargo berths LB3 and LB4 at JNPA under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Capacity increases to 181.4 MTPA
With the commissioning of the additional berths, JSW Infrastructure’s total operational capacity has increased from 177 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 181.4 MTPA, marking a capacity addition of 4.4 MTPA.
The project enhances the company’s liquid cargo handling capabilities at one of India’s key ports and strengthens its infrastructure footprint in the maritime logistics segment.
Structured execution under PPP framework
The project follows the earlier receipt of a Letter of Intent from JNPA and the subsequent signing of the Concession Agreement. The successful completion reflects JSW Infrastructure’s ability to execute large-scale port infrastructure projects within the PPP framework.
The commissioning of LB3 and LB4 is expected to support growing demand for specialized liquid cargo handling and further consolidate the company’s position in India’s port infrastructure sector.
