ALTON – Jack Beaber is heading into what he expects to be a strong season in track and field at Marquette Catholic, and he has already taken his next step for college.
Beaber, a Marquette Catholic student-athlete, signed a letter of intent this past week at Marquette to attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for track and field.
He is also a Tucker’s Automotive Repair & Tire male athlete of the month.
“I chose the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater because of the athletic culture and strong academic program,” Beaber said. He listed his planned area of academic study as “Management, Occupational Safety/Construction.”

Beaber also played football at Marquette Catholic and participated in Student Council and the Breast Cancer Awareness Club. His awards and highlights include induction into the National Honor Society and a fourth-place finish at state in the shot put in 2025, with a best of 51-01. He also has a best discus mark of 167-11.
At the recent Knight Invite indoors, Beaber placed third in the shot put with a throw of 48-10.75.
Asked for his most memorable moment, Beaber cited “making it to the playoffs in football.”
Reflecting on his time at Marquette Catholic, Beaber said, “My time at Marquette has allowed me to pursue excellence while honoring God, my teammates, and my school community.”
