Yogi to travel in Japan’s high-tech magnetic levitation train

Lucknow, Feb 20 (UNI) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will during his Japan visit beginning next week travel by that counrty’s state-of-the-art Maglev (Magnetic Levitation) train, which operates above the tracks using magnetic power.

The Chief Minister will embark on a tour of Singapore and Japan starting February 22, aiming to attract investment to the state. He will be accompanied by a delegation of 18 officials.

The Chief Minister’s visit is scheduled for February 23 and 24 in Singapore and February 25 and 26 in Japan.

This will be the Chief Minister’s first foreign trip to attract investment in the state. Earlier, he visited Myanmar, Mauritius, Nepal, and Russia.

Similarly, on February 22, a government delegation led by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya will visit the UK and Germany.

According to officials, during his Japan trip, the Chief Minister will undertake the test ride on the high-speed train consisting of 100 km trip to and fro.

Maglev trains are considered the future of modern transportation. Magnetic technology eliminates direct contact between the train and the track, reducing friction to almost zero. This is why this train is capable of achieving speeds of over 600 km per hour.

Japan is rapidly working towards the launch of the Tokyo-Nagoya Maglev Corridor by 2027, which will reduce travel time between the two cities by more than half.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit is not limited to technological curiosity alone; it is also considered significant for the expansion of modern transportation infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.

The state is already developing dynamic infrastructure through projects such as expressways, metros, and regional rapid transit systems.

According to Japanese experts, the high-speed train uses superconducting magnets and a state-of-the-art guideway system, which provides stability and safety along with high speed. Currently operating in the trial phase, this train is being considered an example of Japan’s technological capabilities and innovation.

The Chief Minister’s proposed visit is also being viewed in the broader context of India-Japan cooperation. Collaboration in the areas of high-speed rail, smart mobility, and sustainable transportation is expected to provide a new direction to the transportation network of Uttar Pradesh, including the country.
