Texas Tech softball was back in action against Bethune-Cookman today at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. Samantha Lincoln and Desirae Spearman combined for a five inning shutout as Lincoln took care of the first four innings and Spearman threw in the fifth.
They scattered three hits and Lincoln struck out five.
Offensively it was another run-rule as Texas Tech scratched across 8 runs in five innings. Taylor Pannell hit a two run home run in the first inning to give Texas Tech a 3-0 lead. Later in the game she hit an RBI double to give her three RBI and two extra base hits in the contest.
Lagi Quiroga also hit a bomb for the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech is back on the diamond on Saturday afternoon with a double-feature against Cal State Fullerton and San Diego State.
