PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, who arrived in Armenia at Papoyan’s invitation, discussed issues related to unhindered cargo transit, deepening trade and economic ties, and the development of tourism.
The sides addressed a number of priorities aimed at expanding cooperation, emphasizing the strategic importance of economic relations and their readiness for mutually beneficial development.
“I am convinced that the existing potential of our economic cooperation has not yet been fully realized, and today’s meeting is an important opportunity to align our efforts for the benefit of our peoples,” Gevorg Papoyan said.
The parties also highlighted the importance of intensifying direct contacts between business communities, particularly by promoting meetings in a B2B format.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation and stressed the need for continued dialogue.
Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that an alternative cargo corridor would not pose any threat to Georgia’s transit potential. He also said that Georgia is investing significant resources in developing its transit capabilities, including the North-South corridor leading to Russia.
