BB Energy is restructuring and modernizing its global shipping and freight operations under one umbrella, Blue Bolt Shipping, forming a strategic partnership with experienced freight executive Lars Wogen, formerly of Shell, Litasco and most recently Namor Shipping.
Blue Bolt Shipping, a re-branding of Turbo Asia Pte Ltd, and a wholly owned subsidiary, will consolidate and streamline all chartering activities undertaken by the Group. Bringing these operations together under a single platform will create a unified global freight network with enhanced oversight, efficiency, and transparency, led by Lars Wogen.
The new structure will formally go live in Q2 2026 and will enable optimisation of the shipping value chain and enhance freight-trading capabilities through time charters, contracts of affreightment and freight derivatives.
These changes will strengthen the quality and speed of shipping data available to the Group’s trading teams, supporting more agile decision-making, and unlocking greater optionality. This transformation will shift the company’s shipping and freight function from a service centre model to a fully-fledged profit centre.
Lars Wogen brings over 25 years of experience across the global shipping industry. He began his career as a deck officer on cargo vessels, later moving into a major US shipbroking firm. He subsequently spent 11 years at Shell Trading across Houston, Barbados and London, ultimately leading Shell’s Global Crude Fleet. He then joined Litasco in 2019 as the Director of Shipping to overhaul their shipping business from a service centre to a profit centre. In January of 2024, he left to set up Namor Shipping as an independent freight trading platform in Dubai.
