CIE Automotive has received advisory support from the European Investment Bank to accelerate decarbonisation across its operations and value chain. The support was delivered under the InvestEU Advisory Hub’s programme for climate action and sustainability.
The EIB reviewed CIE Automotive’s Decarbonisation Plan, which includes emissions reduction targets and a strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The plan identifies key investment opportunities including energy efficiency upgrades, renewable electricity procurement, electric furnace adoption, and low-carbon material sourcing.
CIE Automotive operates more than 100 manufacturing facilities across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The company is among the first in the automotive sector to receive advisory support under the InvestEU programme.
The EIB’s relationship with CIE Automotive dates to 2009, during which time it has supported the company’s research and development activities. The latest agreement extends that partnership into decarbonisation strategy.
