In Manila, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers (Southeast Asia) launched a Philippines representative office, a key step in executing the group’s global expansion strategy and enhancing its localised service network framework.
“With the deepening of RCEP implementation and the ongoing strengthening of China-Philippines economic and trade ties, logistics demand in the Philippines has seen consistent growth in areas such as infrastructure, energy transition, and equipment manufacturing,” said the company. “The establishment of the Representative Office will bring services closer to clients, shorten response periods, improve operational efficiency, and enhance overall customer service quality.”
Vice president Zhang Chi said that the representative office in the Philippines should actively integrate into the group’s global network system, as well as strengthen coordination and synergy with regional companies and sister units.
COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers (Southeast Asia) was established in Singapore in 2020, as the regional headquarters of the parent company. It is fully responsible for the market development of specialized vessels in Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, and the Australia-New Zealand region.
By 2025, the company has expanded its marketing network to cover 30 countries and regions, setting up eight overseas representative offices in Indonesia, Thailand, India, Dubai, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia.
