LA detectives find $7M in stolen goods after cargo theft

Authorities, who have been tracking organized crimes and cargo theft, seized millions of dollars worth of stolen merchandize and a large amount of cash after searching 13 locations in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, the LA County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday.

Detective who specialize in cargo theft investigations had been following crime rings between December 2025 and February 2026, according to the sheriff’s department.

During the period, they served search warrants at 13 locations across Southern California and recovered $7 million worth of stolen cargo freight as well as $1 million in cash.

Nine people were arrested during the searches, the sheriff’s department said.

The seized goods came from 36 companies, including Amazon, Costco, Sony, Marshalls and Disney.

The recovered items vary in types and sizes, such as Hisense televisions, LG microwaves, Cannon printers, Sony Soundbars, Milwaukee tools, golf carts, ATVs, Disney clothing and Ring cameras, the sheriff’s department said.
