PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) – Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced all five collective bargaining units at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula have ratified new agreements.
The contracts secure an immediate base wage increase of at least 18 percent for union-represented shipbuilders. Officials said the agreement brings the largest single wage increase in Ingalls Shipbuilding history.
Total pay is expected to grow between 35 and 47 percent through March 8, 2031.
Talks between company leaders and union representatives wrapped up on February 12, with both sides agreeing on contract proposals to send to a vote.
The agreement was then ratified after members of the Pascagoula Metal Trades Council (PMTC), International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), International Association of Machinists (IAM), and the United Federation of Special Police and Security Officers (UFSPSC) voted to approve it.

Ingalls employs 11,000 workers and generates $15 million per week in payroll, making it one of the driving forces in the local economy.
