Panasonic Automotive Systems has achieved conformance with ISO/IEC 5230, the international standard for open source software licence compliance established by the Linux Foundation’s OpenChain Project. The certification covers management processes for the reliable and transparent use of open source software across the supply chain.
As part of its compliance programme, the company established an internal Open Source Program Office in April 2025 to manage OSS usage, support developers, and strengthen contributions to the open source community.
The certification builds on Panasonic Automotive’s existing open source activity, which includes its work on VirtIO standardisation and the open-sourcing of Unified HMI, a VirtIO-based display virtualisation technology.
